Here’s a heads up on a very interesting debate scheduled to take place at OEB 2016 in Berlin which runs from 30th November to 2nd December.
Two top education technology experts are set to argue their case that substituting artificial intelligence for real teachers will boost quality and lead to better results. In other words: robots could soon replace teachers.
Edtech entrepreneur Donald Clarke says that robot teachers, “never get ill, don’t forget much of what they are taught, operate 24/7 and can deliver from anywhere to anywhere there is an internet connection.”
Together with his colleague, Christoph Benzmueller of Berlin’s Free University, Mr Clarke will propose the motion that “this House believes that artificial intelligence could, should and will replace teachers.”
The annual debate is a much anticipated event at OEB and will be an opportunity for teachers and technicians to exchange ideas and opinions.
