In a survey of USA students preparing for college, the split between those intending to purchase laptops and tablets is almost even.
According to online American shopping site PriceGrabber − which conducted a survey of 1,509 online back-to-school shoppers from May to June 2012 − 50 per cent were considering buying a laptop – and 49 per cent were intending to buy a tablet device of some kind. Desktops however, appear to have fallen out of favour somewhat, with just 10 per cent of respondents having them on their lists.
This is the first Back-to-School survey from PriceGrabber.
